A method of measuring a concentration of analyte is provided. The method of measuring a concentration of analyte includes: reacting a nanoparticle solution and an optical waveguide element with a test solution including the analyte to form a sandwich structure; and calculating the concentration of the analJ;te based on a variety of the absorbance of the nanop詞cles or the light scattering by nanoparticles obtair'1ed by a photodetector, wherein the variety comes from nanoparticles included in the nanoparticle solution which absorb or scatter an evanescent wave of the optical waveguide. A recognition element used to detect the analyte is modified on surfaces of the nanoparticles and a recognition element used to capture the analyte is modified on surfaces of the optical waveguide element.
